Hello in the green heart of Germany

Anyone who may be wondering why we have come up with the attribute “green” again, let me tell you that it is true. Our beautiful Schwalm, located between Kassel and Marburg, is statistically one of the 10 regions with the highest proportion of green in Germany.

There is also a wide range of sports, cultural and leisure opportunities. It doesn’t matter whether you prefer to discover the Schwalm by bike, on foot, on horseback, on “inline skates” or from a glider – the choice is yours. In addition, our museums attract interested visitors to the works of the Willingshausen painters’ colony or to the local museum in Ziegenhain. The ruins of the Church of the Dead in Treysa and the late Gothic beauty of the city church there do the rest to captivate visitors from outside.

But the cinema, pubs and concert scenes are not neglected in our picturesque old towns either.

Two-wheelers welcome!

Regardless of which two-wheeler you are traveling with – we are prepared for you and look forward to you! There is sufficient garage space for motorbikes. Cyclists can reach us comfortably and adventurously via the wonderfully situated bike path R4. And electric bicycles can easily refuel with us, as we are designated as a Movelo battery exchange station.

The cyclist’s paradise

The Weidelbach farm is located directly on the Hessian long-distance cycle route R4. Cyclists can use us as a stage destination or spend a longer active holiday with us, because in addition to the R4 path, there are also attractive circular routes through the Schwälmer Land.

We are central.

You will find us in the middle of Germany and there at the junction of important traffic routes. The proximity to the A49 and A5 guarantees you quick access routes and still you will find peace and nature with us – just as you wish.

Little Red Riding Hood …

… is at home with us. Because the Schwalm costume was really the inspiration when the Brother Grimms put the famous story on paper. And everywhere in the Schwalm you will find evidence of tradition, culture and customs that bring Little Red Riding Hood to life.
